Bahrain Mirror: The House of Representatives rejected an "urgent" proposal to equalize the certificates of Bahraini graduates from Chinese universities who were allegedly sent by the government on scholarships.
MP Jalal Mahfouz, one of the MPs who made the proposal, said that the government sent the students to study medicine in China and provided scholarships for them during the 6 years of studying. Several complaints were received from the graduates who remained jobless. The MP called on to retract the unjust decision taken by the majority of the council.
The MP questioned "why would the government send them on scholarships and later refuse to accept their certificates".
MP Jamila Al-Sammak said that medical graduates from Chinese universities had scored more than 90% in their secondary level, thus, they are distinguished. Besides, the government gave them scholarships to study abroad, however, the ministry of education refused to equalize their certificates.
