Opposition Leader Sheikh Ali Salman Refuses to Attend Trial, Case over “Spying for Qatar” Adjourned until Nov. 27

Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court held on Monday (November 27, 2017) the first trial session of opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman and Al-Wefaq two leaders, Sheikh Hassan Sultan and Ali Al-Aswad, over charge of "spying for Qatar". The court adjourned the case until November 29 to inform the defendants.
According to the Public Prosecution's statement, Sheikh Ali Salman refused to attend the session. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hassan Sultan and Ali Al-Aswad has been outside Bahrain since 6 years.
The authorities accuse the opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman and Al-Wefaq two leaders Sheikh Hassan Sultan and Ali Al-Aswad of spying for Qatar over contacting Qatari official parties in February and March 2011, responding to a US-Qatari mediation to reach a peaceful solution that makes protestor in the LuaLua (Pearl) Roundabout return to their houses after achieving a number of political demands.
