Bahrain Mirror: With the beginning of 2018, diesel prices will increase according to timeline for reconsidering fuel prices. Diesel prices will increase to 160 fils per liter in 2018 and to 180 fils with the beginning of 2019.
This increase came after the recent amendment of diesel prices. Diesel price has increased 20 fils every year since the beginning of 2016. It hiked to 120 then to 140 fils in January 2017 and will be 160 fils starting January 2018 and 180 fils per liter starting January 2019.
Bahrain Fishermen's Society Chairman Jassim Al-Jiran said that professional fishermen receive monthly support worth of 300 BD for diesel, however, this amount doesn't cover their operational value.
Al-Jiran said that the solution in saving the market from any negative outcomes can be made by excluding the fishermen from the annual diesel price change.
