Central Information Agency: 700 Thousand Vehicles in Bahrain until End of 2016

Bahrain Mirror: Statistics issued by Central Information Agency stated that the number of vehicles in Bahrain reached 700 thousand until 2016; i.e. a 52% increase during the past 10 years, starting from 2006 (337 thousand vehicles).
The number of vehicles increased about 50 thousand vehicles during 2016. Meanwhile, the number of cancelled units reached 4300 cars. The competent parties cancel about 7000 vehicles each year.
The private cars in 2016 reached 510 thousand cars, while rented cars showed an increase reaching about 24 thousand cars.
Statistics showed that the official parties granted 60 thousand private and public licenses and licenses for motorcycles. Information revealed that the number of motorcycles is increasing annually and that it reached about 16 thousand. 56 thousand private licenses and 634 public licenses were granted to people. General Directorate of traffic had given about 400 driving licenses during the past 10 years.
During the same year, the traffic violations increased to about 524 thousands; i.e. 200 thousand violations more than the previous year that witnessed only 325 thousand violations. Speed violations topped the list with 106 thousand, while (standing and waiting) came in the second rank with 12 thousand cases.
