Bahrain Strongly Condemns Qatari Interception of UAE Passenger Plane

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs vehemently condemned on Monday (January 15, 2018) the interception by Qatari fighter jets of a civilian aircraft flying from the UAE to Bahrain.
In its statement, the Foreign Ministry described the incident as a clear violation of the relevant international conventions and laws, in particular those of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the provisions of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation and its amendments of 1944, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
The Ministry stressed that "this rejected hostile behavior by Qatar against civil aircraft, which has become frequent recently, jeopardizes the safety of civil aviation and poses a threat to the lives of civilians."
In further reiterated Bahrain's full support for the UAE, backing all measures undertaken to maintain its security and stability, stop these violations and repel these breaches by the State of Qatar.
