Bahrain Mirror: The First High Appeals Criminal Court rejected the appeals of a suspect sentenced to 3 years in prison and stripped him of his nationality.

A first-instance court issued a 10-year jail term against a suspect who took part with another one in 14th February protests and blasted a gas cylinder in Al-Qadam village. It also sentenced another suspect to 3 years in jail because he was under 18. The court revoked the citizenships of the suspects and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

The prosecution accused the suspects that in 2013 and on January 22, 2016, the suspects took part, with other unknowns, in terrorist acts, aiming at disabling the Constitution and preventing the state's institution from practicing their works and damaging the national unity. It also accused them of taking part in this group's acts and receiving money to spend them on their terrorist activities and blasting an explosive aiming at intimidating citizens as well as deliberately setting fire to movables mentioned in the documents, aiming at putting people's lives and money to danger.

In its ruling, the Court stated that in view of the circumstances of the second defendant, being under 18 years old when committing the crime, it reduced his sentence pursuant to articles 70 and 71 of the Penal Code.
