Bahrain Mirror: A military appeals court in Bahrain announced on Wednesday (January 31, 2018) adjourning the military commander attempted murder case until the February 21 for deliberation and sentencing.

A military court last month sentenced six Bahrainis to death for plotting to assassinate Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

Some of the accused were forcibly disappeared for around a year and their parents' did not have any information about their whereabouts, place of detention or the reasons why the security services arrested them before the indictment was announced.

The defendants said they had been tortured for a whole year to be forced into giving incriminating confessions.

Human rights organizations have demanded that Bahrain stop the prosecution of civilians before military courts, but Bahrain has turned a deaf ear to such calls.

On Wednesday, a civilian court sentenced two men to death over charges of killing a police officer as part of a group of 58 people, including two women.
