Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Court sentenced a customs employee to one year in prison on charges of falsifying documents sent to the Civil Service Bureau by adding undue powers to his job description. The court ordered the confiscation of the forged document.

A report issued by the Customs Affairs Department to the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Authority stated that an administrative investigation had been conducted with a customs officer (39 years old), in which the latter was found to be working as an equipment supervisor in the Training and Development Department programs. The report said that he falsified a pass permits form for application programs Of the Civil Service Bureau, which was issued by the Training and Development Department, granting him three powers concerned with training only.

The Public Prosecutor's Office accused the defendant of falsifying an official document, the pass permit form for application programs in the Service Bureau's Horizon system in July 2016 at the Customs Security Service to prove false jurisdiction by adding a "check mark" on more powers than authorized, falsely attributing the document to the Director of the Training and Development Department of the Customs Affairs Authority, and using the false document and submitting it to officials, well aware of the forgery.
