Bahrain Mirror: King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa met on Sunday (February 18, 2018) Chairman of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Richard Burr.

Bahrain News Agency said that Hamad bin Isa hailed "the US vital role in maintaining the regional and international peace and stability."

Bahrain hosts fifth US fleet. Meanwhile, the relations between the two countries improved with arrival of President Donald Trump to the White House.

Trump assured the Bahraini King in a meeting on the sideline of Riyadh summit in May 2017 that "relations between the two countries won't be strained".

Obama administration had suspended a fighter jet deal to Bahrain to push it take steps to improve human rights conditions, however, the current administration resumed the deal.
