Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini House of Representatives approved on Tuesday (March 13, 2018) a bill amending some provisions of the pensions and retirement benefits law for government employees, which allows employees with temporary contracts to put under the umbrella of insurance, regardless of the time period, and calculate the value of fees deducted from the salaries of temporary employees not less than those deducted from the salaries of their counterparts who have permanent contracts.
MP Isa Al-Kooheji said in his comments yesterday in the House of Representatives on the organization of pensions and retirement benefits for government employees: "Retirement is important to every citizen, but until this moment there is no consolidation of retirement benefits."
"We should talk about ourselves, The retirement of the MPs and the Shura Council members cost the state more than 70 million dinars annually and this amount could increase." He said that he submitted the proposal but the legislative committee has not yet looked into it.
