Bahrain Mirror: The First High Appeals Criminal Court upheld 5-year jail term against 2 appellants over charge of kidnapping a youth and beating him, claiming that he works as an informant.

The authorities claim that the first appellant lured the victim by calling him and pretending that he wants to sleep at his house, so that the other appellant can catch him, arrest him in one of the farms and beat him with the help of other unknowns.

They added that the victim said that while he was returning him, a masked man stopped him in Bilad Al-Qadeem and that 10 persons forced him to descend his car. They handcuffed and blindfolded him and took him to one of the abandoned farms and assaulted him using wooden sticks and rubber cords, claiming he works as an informant and that he led policemen to one of the appellants wanted over a terrorist case.

The authorities indicated that the 2 appellants along with other unknowns filmed him after they forced him to read what is written in a paper that included confessions stating that he works as an informant. They added that the defendants threatened him by putting a sharp tool on his neck and to harm him and his family in case he tells the police.

The authorities say that they reached the suspects through investigations.
