Appeals Court Upholds 5-Year Jail Term against HR Activist Nabeel Rajab over Tweets Critical to War on Yemen and Torture in Bahraini Prisons

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's High Appeals Court upheld on Tuesday (June 5, 2018) a five-year jail sentence against president of Bahrain Center for Human Rights and prominent human rights defender, Nabeel Rajab, in a case related to posting tweets in which he criticized Saudi-led coalition on Yemen and torture in Jaw Prison.
Rajab is serving now 2-year jail term over charge of making interviews with foreign media outlets in which he spoke about human rights violations and human rights status in Bahrain.
This verdict will be added to the previous one, thus Rajab now faces 7 years in prison. The verdict is to include the time he was held since his arrest on June 16, 2016.
