Court Issues Sentences Ranging between 3 and 7 Years in Prison against 9 Suspects Accused of Attacking Police Patrol in Diraz

Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court sentenced 9 protestors to prison terms ranging between 3 and 9 years over attacking police patrol in Diraz using Molotov cocktails.
The court sentenced 2 suspects to 7 years in jail and 3 others to 5 years. It also handed down 3-year jail term to 4 suspects, ordered the first 6 suspects to pay 1036200 BD for the damages caused to the police patrol and ordered confiscation of seized items.
The Public Prosecution accused the third, fourth and fifth suspects of deliberately setting fire, on June 20, 2018, to a police patrol in a public street, which would endanger people's lives and money. It also accused them of deliberately damaging public property "police patrol", which would put people's lives and money to danger, for a terrorist aim, as well as manufacturing and acquiring Molotov, aiming at using them to put people's lives and money to danger.
The first 2 suspects were accused of helping and agreeing with the suspects from the third till the fifth to commit the said crime.
The prosecution accused the sixth suspect of taking part in the crime through inciting, agreeing with and helping the first 5 suspect to commit the crime, for a terrorist aim. It also accused the second, seventh, eighth and ninth suspects of manufacturing, possessing and acquiring Molotov cocktails, aiming at using them to put people's lives and public money to danger.
