UK Company to Establish Tax System despite Proposing Highest Bids

Bahrain Mirror: Press information mentioned that the Finance Ministry is about to assign "PricewaterhouseCoopers" company to do main tasks related to starting establishing a project for tax system and application of VAT.
According to data published by a local newspaper, the British company provided the largest tender, with a bid of 4.3 million BD, while other companies offered bids not exceeding 2 million.
"The appointment came after studying the bids of 3 international companies that proposed bids in mid-February," an official source said. According to data issued by the Tender Board, the bid proposed by Pricewaterhouse was about 4.3 million Bahraini dinars.
Bahrain is expected to begin applying VAT at the onset of 2019.
