Interior Ministry Says to Monitor Any News or Messages Calling for Boycott of Upcoming Elections, Refer those “Involved” to Prosecution

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of the Interior announced that it will be monitoring any news or messages calling for non-participation in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, and referring those involved to the Public Prosecution.
In a statement issued today (October 6, 2018), the Ministry said that "the security services will take the necessary legal measures in the course of dealing with any remarks or reports received from citizens that obstruct participation in voting and the electoral process." The General Directorate for Combating Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security is "monitoring any news or messages calling for non-participation in the elections via telephones in a deceptive manner, as it will taking legal action against those involved in them, refer them to the Public Prosecution, and take necessary action to ensure that voters perform their right to vote with ease."
Al-Ayyam newspaper (September 30, 2018) published the first photograph of the well-known torturer in the National Security Apparatus, Badr Ibrahim Al-Ghaith, who became the head of the operations department of the General Directorate for Combating Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security. Al-Ghaith's name was associated with the torture of well-known political figures and the raids launched on their homes such as political leader Abdulwahab Hussein and others. He is known for brutally torturing in 2014 the first and second defendants in the case of the murder of the UAE officer Tareq Al-Shehhi. The defendants were martyrs Sami Mushaima and Abbas Al-Samee', who was hospitalized then in the military hospital in critical condition as a result of the torture with electric shock, severe beatings, prolonged suspension, and not allowing them and the rest of the detainees to sit for days.
