Bahrain Mirror: The Kuwaiti Criminal Court, presided by Judge Abdullah Al-Othman, sentenced the secretary-general of the Islamic Alliance and prominent Shiite cleric Sheikh Hussein Al-Maatouk to five years in prison.
The authorities accuse Sheikh Hussein Al-Maatouk along with 13 others of "covering up for the defendants of the Abdali cell [case]."
The court ruled sentencing the first defendant (Sheikh Hussein Al-Maatouk) and the second defendant (Activist Hashem Fadhel, Sheikh Al-Maatouk's assistant) to 5 years in prison with labor and placing them under police supervision 5 years after the completion of the sentence. The court also sentenced the third to the thirteenth defendants to one year imprisonment, while exempting the 14th defendant from punishment.
