Bahrain Mirror: The CEO of the Economic Development Board, Khalid Al-Rumaihi, said that Apple Pay service is expected to start running in Bahrain by the end of this year or early next year, stressing that there are discussions underway between banks in Bahrain and Apple about the operation of the service.
Al-Rumaihi said that work on providing some technical features that are compatible with Apple's service is underway, which are currently being developed as well. For instance, there will be no need to swipe the credit card in the sales devices, as only a touch ID is required.
Al-Rumaihi stressed the lack of negotiations with Apple to establish a regional center in Bahrain, but noted that there are discussions with them to invest in Bahrain in other matters.
