Court Issues 15-Year Jail Term against 3, Including Woman over Charge of Smuggling Drugs from Saudi Arabia

Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Court sentenced 3 individuals from Gulf and Arab nationals, including a woman, to 15 years in jail and fined each of them BD 5000 over bringing in weeds and narcotics aiming at trafficking. The court ordered deporting the suspects after finishing their sentences.
The case included 6 suspects, two Bahrainis and a female Arab resident as well as three Gulf nationals. On 13/1/2019, reliable information was received from one of the confidential sources revealing that a large quantity of weeks were received aiming at trafficking them. A warrant was issued to search the suspect. A force headed to his house in Al-Daih and confiscated a large amount of weeds he hid in his house. The suspect confessed that he had hid more weeds at his friend's house (Arab national). She was arrested and the drugs were confiscated.
