Multiple Sclerosis Patient Detainee Mohammad Faraj Released after 5 Years in Prison

Bahrain Mirror: The security authorities released today (Wednesday, January 22, 2020) at dawn multiple sclerosis patient detainee, Mohammad Faraj, after spending more than 5 years in prison.
Faraj is sentenced to 7 years in jail in a political case. He spent five years and one month of his prison term and was released within the alternative penalty law that included a number of political detainees.
In addition to Mohammad Faraj, the authorities released today cancer patient detainee Elias Al-Mulla and Hussein Abdulaziz Al-Marri, who suffers from retinal detachment and vision loss.
The authorities released in the past two months a number of political detainees within the alternative penalty law or for humanitarian reasons. This step was welcomed by opposition figures.
