Bahrain Mirror: Israeli Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, said that he had "warm conversation" with his Bahraini counterpart, Jamal Fares Al-Rowaiei and that the two congratulated each other.
The two reportedly "also agreed to meet to discuss cooperation in the UN on issues of innovation and economic development for the benefit of the two countries."
"Expanding the circle of peace in the Middle East can lead to a change at the UN as well," Erdan said. "We are entering a new era in which we can publicly work together on security issues and the economic prosperity of Israel and the Arab countries. Together, we will face the challenges that threaten stability in the Middle East."
Trump announced on Friday that Bahrain agreed to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel. This step was welcomed by the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Palestinian factions condemned the agreement. Meanwhile, some saw it as insisting on "implementing the deal of the century", while others argued that the Arab League's non-condemnation of normalization and its failure to pass a draft resolution in this regards gave the green light to other states to normalize with Israel.
The announcement of Bahrain's normalization agreement came about a month after the UAE announced a similar agreement.
On August 13, the UAE and Israel reached an agreement to normalize relations, which was widely condemned by the Palestinian factions and leadership, who considered it a "betrayal" from Abu Dhabi's part and a "stab" in the back of the Palestinian people.
It is to mention that Bahrain is the fourth Arab state to normalize relations with Israel, after Egypt, Jordan and the UAE.
