Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain signed an anti-Semitism agreement with Washington, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Sunday, October 25, 2020.
"Thank you to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence for signing an agreement on combating anti-Semitism with Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism at the US Department of State.," Pompeo tweeted.
"We're proud to have a strong partner in Bahrain as we aim to eradicate anti-Semitism and promote peace."
The agreement was signed in Washington and announced by the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Elan Carr on his Twitter account on Friday.
"We just signed an historic agreement with the Kingdom of #Bahrain's @GlobalHamad Centre to fight #Antisemitism together in the Middle East and beyond. We will also create programs to teach the region's children the value of peaceful coexistence. Thank you Bahrain!" he wrote.
Carr attached the a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Washington on October 22, under which the U.S. Envoy's Office and King Hamad Center agreed to cooperate in "developing and implementing programs that offer mutual respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence between Arabs and Jews and their national states and all people in the region."
Last September, the King of Bahrain considered his country's normalization of relations with Israel "a historic achievement that contributes to advancing the peace process and stability in the Middle East."
This came after Bahrain and the UAE signed two normalization agreements with Israel at the White House, under the auspices of US President Donald Trump, ignoring the anger of the Arabs.
Arab political forces and organizations have widely rejected these agreements, amid accusations that they are "stabbing" the Palestinian cause in the back.
