Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini scholars issued on Wednesday (June 9, 2021) a statement expressing condolences over martyrdom of prisoner of conscience, Hussein Barakat, who died today after his health deteriorated due to contracting Coronavirus and was subjected to medical negligence.
The scholars said "We are very keen on the security and safety of the nation. We reiterate our warning to the regime and reckless authorities of the consequences of threatening the lives of our people by unjustly insisting on the crime of keeping them in prison, crime of health negligence and crime of exposing them to the Coronavirus epidemic in prison conditions that lack the minimum standards of humanity. We will not stand still and see our sons come out of prison as corpses."
They went on to say that the homeland is threatened today by a danger that makes family of every prisoner afraid and worried. It is noteworthy mentioning that almost every Bahraini family has one of its sons in prison.
The scholars expressed condolences to the resistance people of Bahrain, leader Sheikh Isa Qassim and family of the martyr.
