Bahrain Mirror: Director of Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy said that Bahrain did not respond to a UN request to accept a visit by a UN rapporteur to Manama.
"The government of Bahrain did not responded to a request for a visit by the UN Special Rapporteur on torture. The request has been recalled since the beginning of this year (January 2021) and the government is still ignoring it," Sayed Ahmed Al-Wadaei said via his Twitter account.
The Bahraini government, which has a notorious record of torture and human rights violations, has rejected several similar requests since 2011.
