Bahrain Mirror: Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, deputy Secretary-General of the Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, confirmed to the British BBC Channel the Bahraini peoples' condemnation of the Israeli Foreign Minister's visit to Bahrain.
"The visit of the Israeli FM to Bahrain is an act firmly rejected, condemned and denounced by the people of Bahrain," said Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, deputy secretary-general of the banned Shia Muslim opposition movement Al-Wefaq.
Last year, Al-Wefaq described the signing of the Abraham Accords as a "betrayal of Islam and Arabism".
Al-Wefaq issued yesterday (September 29, 2021) a statement in which it said "We affirm our absolute rejection and the people of Bahrain's objection to staining our land and nation. We stress that any Israeli presence in Bahrain is a provocation to the sentiments of Bahrainis and a desperate attempt to break their word and will, also infringing on the right of the people to their fateful and principled issues."
The society stressed that the regime is the host, indicating that "the regime doesn't have the right to do so and it was not mandated by its people to establish relations with the Zionist entity. Thus, any communication or relation with the occupying entity is rejected and condemned. Our people will not accept it and will deal with it as a threat to their stability and existence."
