Bahrain Mirror: Bilad Al-Qadeem Charity (the charity of the ancient country, the Zanz and Azari) said that the Ministry of Labor and Social Development rejected 30 of the 34 candidates for the charity's elections, depriving dozens of families of monthly aid.

According to these figures, 88% of the charity's candidates for the elections were rejected.

In a letter to members of the General Assembly (December 3, 2021), the charity explained that the rejection came in three rounds, adding that the ministry recently refused to accredit 6 elected members out of 9, despite meeting the conditions for running the elections and their winning.

A few days ago, the Ministry of Labor rejected the applications of 88% of candidates for the Saar Charity Fund elections for the same reasons. 

In recent years, the government has stepped up its actions against the Shiite sect and dissolved its political societies, as well as religious associations, and Ulama Islamic Council (the largest Shiite religious body), and has been pursuing and severely restricting the activity of the Shiite community in charitable work. 

This questionable political isolation law deprives citizens who belong to (dissolved) political societies from running for elected (municipal and parliamentary) councils and the departments of public interest associations and sports clubs.
