Bahrain: 36 Human Rights Violations in First Week of January 2022

Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that it documented 36 cases of human rights violations against citizens in the first week of 2022.
It added in a report on Monday (January 10, 2022) on the period between 1 and 7 January that the monitoring included arbitrary arrests and violations against detainees, ill-treatment and denial of treatment.
The report mentioned the arrest of Sayed Hussein Mahfouz (18 years) from Al-Markh on January 1, 2022. Meanwhile, the imprisonment of 5 children pending investigation was extended. The children were arrested on October 31 and November 1, 2021. They are: Mohammad Jaafar Al-Kuwaiti (15 years), Moqtada Jaafar Al-Kuwaiti (15 years), Montazar Jaafar Al-Kuwaiti (14 years), Ahmad Fadel Ahmad Hubail (15 years) and Mohammad Abdulzahraa Mansour (15 years).
The individual violations in prisons were 15, 8 against prisoners of conscience, and all of them happened in Jaw Central Prison. They were distributed as the following: 14 ill-treatment and 1 case of treatment denial, indicating that the prisoners are: Abdullah Al-Anjawi, Alaa Mansour, Mohammad Nasif, Mahdi Al-Qaffas, Mahdi Al-Gawwas, Mohmmad Jaafar, Mojtaba Fatil, Abdullah Abdulkarim and Yasser Ahmad.
Al-Wefaq indicated that Yasser Ahmad is denied from treatment and that his health has been severely deteriorated since months. He frequently feels dizziness in his head, causing him a loss of balance to walk, as well as some other health problems. The prison administration is not responding to demands to transfer him to hospital and present him to a specialized doctor.
Al-Wefaq concluded its report saying that a protest was staged in Sitra on January 1 and was oppressed by security forces. Besides, daily vigils continued to be held in Sanabis.
