Detainee Fadhel Abbas' family demanded the ministry of interior to allow them visit their son, expressing fear over his safety, especially that he has been held since 190 days, i.e. more than 6 months, noting that the family couldn’t visit him even one time. His lawyer couldn’t get Abbas’ proxy to represent Abbas attending the investigation sessions. Moreover, Fadhel wasn’t even presented to the prosecution despite being held for months.

The Director-General of Anti-corruption and Economic & Electronic Security announced on Sunday the arrest of a man for circulating on social media calls for illegal rallies under the title “Stance of Riffa Residents Against Traffic Law”. Such acts are punishable under Article 13 of Law 32 of 2006 which includes amendments to certain provisions of Law 18 of 1973 on public meetings, rallies and gatherings.

3-Year Jail Term instead of 10 Handed down to Adel Flaifel over Possession of Arms & Ammunitions

The Supreme Court of Appeals presided over by judge Mohammad bin Ali Al Khalifa and Naji Abdullah as secretariat commuted the 10-year jail term issued against former Interior Ministry colonel Adel Flaifel to 3 years and commuted the 3-year jail term issued against 6 others to one year only. It is to mention that Flaifel is sentenced over possession of arms and ammunitions without a licence from the ministry of interior.
